The original Mimo's logo embodies the retro, café feel that the patrons love, but it's not as warm and friendly as the business itself is. It's also a very busy, 'loud' logo, when the establishment is more laid back.

My redesign kept the retro feel, but updated it to add the warm familiar feeling that patrons get when they eat at the café. I still wanted to incorporate the coffee cup from the original design, so I integrated it into
the 'o' of Mimo's. I also got rid of "café"
and "Whittier", as it is simply known as "Mimo's" to locals.

The color palette that I chose is referencing the original logo, but I added some more laid back tints to the palette to balance it out.

I applied the new logo and the color palette to various mockups, some of which feature simple illustrations to add to the appearance.
